Fiancé visas
U.S. Fiancé Visa ▪ K-1 & K-2
The immigration
attorneys at Reeves & Associates, from our offices
in Pasadena and San Francisco, California, help reunite couples
with K-1 visas. Fiancé visas allow U.S. citizens to bring
prospective spouses to the U.S. with the intention of marriage.
Minor children of the prospective husband or wife can accompany
K-1 visa holders, using K-2 visas.
Reeves
& Associates U.S. immigration law firm represents
our clients to establish the legitimacy of pending marriages,
and prepares fiancés for the interviews with consular
officials. You are invited to contact
us for a telephone or video conference consultation
about your application for a fiancé visa. In addition
to our California offices we have branch offices in ,
China and Makati, Philippines.
Petition for Alien Fiancé
Petitioning a fiancé to the United States
requires an application with substantial supporting documentation
with the United States Citizen and Immigration Service (USCIS).
This entails more than simply submitting form I-129F to the
USCIS. At Reeves & Associates we take great care in demonstrating
to the USCIS and the State Department that a valid relationship
exists and that the fiancé is admissible to the U.S.
After USCIS approval of the petition, the fiancé will
need to be prepared for the K-1 visa interview at a U.S. Embassy
or consulate abroad.
Adjustment of Status ▪ Green Card ▪
Citizenship
The marriage must take place within ninety days
after the K-1 visa holder enters the United States.
After the marriage, the immigrant spouse can apply to become
a conditional permanent resident and eventually gain U.S.
citizenship through naturalization .
United States Immigration Lawyers
The entire process from submission of the fiancé
petition to the granting of permanent residency or citizenship
for the immigrant spouse may take several years to complete.
But the K-1 fiancé visa itself need not take long if
the application is properly prepared. The assistance of experienced
immigration attorneys can make all the difference in expediting consular
processing of fiancé visas.
